Garden Development 1964 - 1982

1966 - creation of the Holly Avenue

The Holly Avenue was planted to border the stepping stones, leading to the Duck Pond

The Pine Pavement was created behind the clipped hollies

1966 - the "White Garden" replaced the traditional Herbaceous Border

The Summerhouse was built in 1967.

1967 - the Beech Alley was planted

The Ha-ha was created in 1968 and the tall sundial was erected

Millstones were laid in the path leading from the sundial to the house

By 1973 both borders were planted with silver and white plants

1969 - The shed and compost bays were redesigned and constructed according to Robin's plans

The Arbour was constructed in 1971

The original slate roof on the house was replaced with stone in 1971
