Yucca filamentosa - YGA01788
Driveway, Yucca filamentosa
Yucca filamentosa at the edge of the driveway, a fuchsia behind.

In her talk York Gate 1965 (YGA00828) Sybil says "Yucca filamentosa - Liliaceae. This is a most spectacular plant belonging to the lily family. It doesn't seem to be difficult to grow, and is not fussy about soil. They are attractive grown as single specimens in key positions. The flower arises from a most attractive rosette of stiff spiney leaves. The rosette dies after flowering, but some young usually come up from the base, which can be removed the next year and planted out. It is as well to put a little bracken around the rosette in winter."
