In April/May 1954, Robin constructed a Herb Garden on the site of the old farmhouse. Sybil planted it with "sage, fennel, rue, rosemary, apple mint, pepper mint, lavender, curry, lemon thyme, common thyme, bergamot, welsh onions, etc. etc. " (Sybil Spencer)
In 1957, following the sale of the farmyard, this Herb Garden was moved to its current position next to the Kitchen Garden.
