Cytisus praecox in front of the wall bordering the road. In her talk York Gate 1965 (
YGA00828) Sybil says " Cytisus praecox - Leguminoseae. A showy May blooming shrub which responds to light clipping after blooming. It has a delightful drooping habit and the creamy yellow flowers make a wonderful show. I would not say that these brooms have a very long life, and if they become unshapely, it is best to start again with a young pot grown plant, as the tap root resents disturbance."
